  Historic National Event for Ex-Servicemen



The Akila Bharathiya Poorva Sainik Seva Parishad (ABPSSP) is set to organize one of the most significant events in its history, bringing together ex-servicemen from across India. From 29th November to 1st December 2024, the vibrant city of Kannur will witness a monumental General Body Meeting (GBM), expected to draw over 1,500 ex-servicemen. This event marks a defining moment in the journey of ABPSSP as the largest national-level organization dedicated to the welfare of former soldiers.

Key Highlights of the Event:

  • Distinguished Guests: The Hon'ble Defence Minister of India Shri Rajnath Singh will grace the event as the Chief Guest, alongside the esteemed presence of the Hon'ble Governor Shri Arif Mohammed Khan of the state. Their involvement underscores the importance of ex-servicemen's welfare and their continued contribution to the nation.

  • Unifying Veterans Nationwide: With participation from all parts of India, the GBM aims to foster camaraderie and unity among ex-servicemen, strengthening the collective spirit of the community.

  • Strategic Deliberations: The event will provide a platform to discuss key welfare policies, initiatives, and measures aimed at improving the lives of ex-servicemen and their families.

This landmark gathering is not only a testament to the shared values of the ex-servicemen community but also an opportunity to celebrate their invaluable service to the nation.

Upcoming Tamil Nadu Event in December 2024

In continuation of this national-level initiative, Tamil Nadu will host its ABPSSP Meeting in December 2024. The exact date and venue will be announced soon. Member of ABPSSP Ex-servicemen across Tamil Nadu are encouraged to participate in this significant event, reinforcing their commitment to unity and welfare.

VISTAS has come forward to offer 10 free seats for the wards of Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris and War Wounded Veterans Vels University (VISTAS) offers various scholarships schemes for the benefit of eligible students every year which enables them to pursue their dream courses. The notable Scholarship scheme was “Vels Free Education Scheme for Children of Corona Warriors” to honour the relentless services provided by the frontline workers during the COVID pandemic, namely Nurses, Police Personnel and Sanitation workers. 300 free seats have been allotted to the wards of the above personnels at free of cost. Every year 500 seats are allotted under VSAT (Vels Scholarship Admission Test), based on merit. The students are given scholarships in their tuition fees upto 100%.
